CEO Thoughts: People Bank With PeopleI had the privilege of traveling to the Grand Tetons and Jackson Hole last week. The scenery was beautiful, the people were very hospitable, and best of all, the weather was cool compared to Phoenix! On our way back to the airport in Idaho Falls, my wife pointed out a billboard near the Interstate that was an advertisement for Bank of Idaho. It was a bright green background with four words that read: “People bank with people.” Kudos to the marketing team at Bank of Idaho for delivering a very concise message that clearly states what community banking is all about. Don’t get me wrong, technology is a wonderful thing. It certainly allows us to be more efficient with everything we do. But the reality is, when we need to make a major decision, or we need help solving a problem, most everyone prefers to talk to a real person.
